Terrific Tacos (gluten free & kid friendly)

I hope that you enjoy this video that I created for the Growing Healthy Kids Campaign through Whole Foods Market! My goal is to share with you how to make healthy and delicious meals! When I was little, my parents always fed me whole real foods and I consider myself a “Whole Foods Baby!”

So that is why this video is very exciting for me! I love shopping at Whole Foods Market because I know they care about what I eat. I shop there so much they know my name too! They care about all of us kids so much they started a program that provides schools with garden grants and educate teachers about children’s nutrition.

They actually have put 1000 salad bars in schools through the Whole kids Foundation! It is so true, we can empower kids to make good choices if we give them good choices! My friends always ask me, “Why don’t you want a bite of this donut or candy?” My answer is simple, “I don’t crave artificial flavors and processed food because growing up I always had real food.” Also, I want to eat food that is going to make me feel good and not hurt my stomach or my health. I guess you could say I had “good choices” growing up! Thanks Mom & Dad for shopping at Whole Foods Market!

Now don’t get me wrong I like ice cream and lollipops but I want to eat ice cream made with real ingredients or lollipops made without artificial colors and flavors. They do exist, in stores like Whole Foods, but you have to read the labels first. If you can’t pronounce it, chances are it’s not real food.

My mission is to teach you that you can eat healthy and it will still taste good! I have a homework assignment for you but don’t worry you will get an A for effort! I want you to start looking for a particular unhealthy ingredient called high fructose corn syrup.

For example, look at your juice box or granola bar’s label for high fructose corn syrup. If you see it, I suggest that you not eat that product because it can be bad for your health. Food companies are slowly taking this ingredient out, but it’s still used in many food products.

You can enjoy sweet tasting foods and still feed your body real foods by learning to read labels and staying away from ingredients like high fructose corn syrup.

I look forward to more fun in the kitchen and check out our friends at wholekidsfoundation.org.

I know you can do it. Stay healthy and cook with passion!

Your friend,

Adriana

P.S. These are some of my favorite snacks that you can find at Whole Foods Market, to add to your lunch box for some fun and yum! Ginny Bakes Cookies, apple with Justin’s Hazelnut butter, strawberries with So Delicious Coco Whip and Lily’s Chocolate Chips, Nature’s Path Granola Bars, July 4th whole grain chips,
